"More than 500 poinsettias and a dozen or so decorated evergreen trees will go into the creation of a festive spectacle at Washington Park Botanical Garden Exhibit Hall & Conservatory for the 39th annual winter holiday floral show.
Each year, 20 to 30 varieties of poinsettias are showcased in the exhibit hall and grouped with the tropical plant collection in the conservatory for this free seasonal display, scheduled for noon-4 p.m. weekdays and noon-5 p.m. weekends from Dec. 1-23, according to Alexa Bryan Potts, event and program coordinator.
Mixing the colorful poinsettias with the dark green tropical plants creates a stunning effect in which the poinsettias “tend to naturally pop out,” Bryan Potts said." (http://www.sj-r.com)
Evergreen wreath workshops led by Bryan Potts are scheduled for 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2.
